Human Trafficking in the United States
Every year, the National Human Trafficking Hotline compiles a report of the calls or alerts they receive pertaining to human trafficking.
The National Human Trafficking Hotline defines human trafficking as, "a form of modern-day slavery. This crime occurs when a trafficker uses force, fraud or coercion to control another person for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex acts or soliciting labor or services against his/her will.
Trafficking can be geared toward sex, labor, or in some circusmtances, both. The report found that the majority of cases involved sex trafficking.
California has the majority of reported human trafficking cases, while Alaska has the least.
I created this infographic to showcase the different statistics relating to domestic trafficking.
